WHAT IS LUMECCA?

The Lumecca™ IPL treatment by InMode is a powerful and effective treatment designed to reduce and remove hyperpigmentation and vascular lesions. It targets redness, spider veins to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and sun damage pigmentation.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Lumecca™ IPL uses intense pulsed light photo-thermolysis through the delivery of specific wavelengths of light which interact with red (melanin) and brown (haemoglobin) pigments in the skin. These pigments absorb the light energy which destroys it. Hyperpigmentation patches are fragmented and either absorbed and removed into the blood and lymphatic system, and thread veins are obliterated almost instantaneously. Lumecca has a high specificity and selectivity for pigmentation and redness created by sun damage and is one of the most powerful treatments for this purpose.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR TREATMENT:

During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from Lumecca, and a sensation on your skin that feels like a light snap from an elastic band. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subside within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a colour change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.
