Registered Massage Therapy

While Registered Massage Therapy often offers instant relief and relaxation, the purpose of our RMTs is to find solutions for your long-term health and well-being. Our talented Registered Massage Therapists assess your body and used specialized techniques to alleviate pain, improve mobility and help you live a more comfortable life.

A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION:

Our RMTs Max and Olena Naftulyev both attended the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. Each of them use different techniques and tools to aid in the health and well-being of their clients. Massage therapy can help alleviate musculoskeletal disorders associated with everyday stress, muscular overuse, physical manifestation of mental distress and many persistent pain syndromes.

Here are a few of the techniques our RMTs use:

Hydrotherapy (Hot/Cold Stones): Hot and cold stone massages are a part of Olena’s offerings. While at first glance hot stone massage may not look like hydrotherapy, it actually is because the stones are heated in hot water. Once heated and cooled, they are then applied to strategic areas of the body, such as the spine, stomach, hands, feet, chest, and face.

Trigger Point Releasing: A soft tissue technique that works to release painful, tension in muscles and fascia that you would usually experience as a knot in the muscle.

Myofascial Release: This therapy technique is very common in massage. It is focused on pain that comes from myofascial tissues — the tough coverings that wrap, connect and support muscles.

Swedish Massage: One of the most common types of massage therapy. It’s often used to relax you, relieve stress and relieve pain. Swedish massage often involves rubbing, kneading, stroking and tapping your muscles.

Muscle Energy Technique: Used for any condition in which the goal is to cause relaxation and lengthening of the muscles and improve range of motion (ROM) in joints. Muscle energy techniques can be applied safely to almost any joint in the body.

Craniosacral Therapy: This is a very gentle technique that is focused on the central nervous system, rather than soft tissue throughout the body. The technique manipulates the cerebrospinal fluid to suspend rhythmic impulses and relax the CNS.

Joint Mobilizations: Can improve range of motion, reduce pain, and improve the mechanics of a joint to help with things such as lifting your arm, bending your spine, or walking. Utilized for patients with joint stiffness or pain can benefit from this technique.
